I. General Job Description

This position will be responsible for the sale of truck parts and accessories by phone or other direct communication from customers. Determine the availability of parts to best serve customer demands and coordinate the logistics of those orders.

Responsibilities

  • Making outing sales generating call to new and existing customers.
  • Respond to sales calls and requests thoroughly and professionally.
  • Utilize computer business systems and electronic catalogues to research parts information.
  • Provide customer pricing and availability (in-stock or emergency order).
  • Keep orderly records of all orders and special-order parts. Communicate with assigned warehouse personnel to facilitate the speedy delivery of orders to customers.
  • Not specifically responsible for core returns but must assure that cores are invoiced and accounted for on each order
  • Enhance job knowledge by continually participating in online training modules and supplier training on new product features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Manage customer requests for parts warranty and administer according to supplier procedures.
  • Contact customers (telemarketing) regarding parts promotional opportunities.
  • Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers.

II. Minimum Job Qualifications

  • 18 years of age.
  • High school graduate or GED
  • 10 years of heavy-duty parts experience.

III. Desired Job Qualifications

  • 15 years of heavy-duty parts experience.
  • Ability to work independently without direct on-site supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Heavy-duty truck aptitude.
  • Strong organization, communication, and phone skills.

IV. Mental Capability Requirements

  • Comprehension: Ability to understand complex problems, collaborate, and explore alternative solutions.
  • Organization: Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule on short-term basis (more than 1 month).
  • Reasoning & Decision Making: Ability to make decisions with moderate impact on immediate work unit.
  • Communication: Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly.
  • Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, record, balance, and check results for accuracy.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions. The noise level is normally loud.
